So, the well-known Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi, decided to send the smartphone to space simply to take some photos of our round planet Earth. The most surprising thing is that it went, returned, and managed to keep itself running correctly.

The Redmi Note 7 was coupled to a balloon and taken into space at an altitude of more than 35km (technically). In comparison, the definition of “space” is more accepted, starting from 80km in size, but let the specificities aside for now. As in this region, the external temperature hit -58°C, and atmospheric pressure wwasonly 2 kilopascals.
Even after going through extreme conditions, the well-known Chinese smartphone brand, Xiaomi, showed that Redmi Note 7 continued to work. During the flight over the curvature of our planet Earth, the smartphone even took the opportunity to take photos of our giant round globe (Earth). And the images captured with the 48MP camera were posted to Xiaomi’s official Twitter account, and guess what? The photos are stunning.
